i recently stayed for one night and truly loved the elegance of the hotel. the staff was accommodating and went above and beyond to make my experience memorable. the cozy atmosphere and gorgeous decor surpassed my expectations from previous trips to san diego.

The Westgate's décor is enchanting, reminiscent of a timeless palace with its ornate chandeliers and warm, inviting lobby. I particularly adored the spacious layout, making it easy for seniors like me to navigate comfortably.

Trolley noise could be disruptive for light sleepers.

Despite its elegance, the hotel suffers from outdated amenities—the in-room safe requires a debit card, and there are not enough easily accessible power outlets. No complimentary coffee in the mornings feels like a letdown for a hotel of this stature. The surrounding area has seen better days, with the nearby plaza closed and an unsettling presence of homeless individuals nearby, which can be quite disconcerting, especially for those unfamiliar with the locale.

My room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and fantastic shower, providing a peaceful retreat despite the downtown location. The rooftop pool was an added bonus, offering a relaxing space for downtime.

While everything was great, it felt a tad stuffy in our room at times. Definitely check out the beautiful decor, it's worth the visit! ☀️

I had a lovely stay with my family in a spacious Deluxe Double Room, and the staff truly made us feel special, right from check-in. The hotel is beautifully decorated, and we enjoyed its convenient location to local attractions. However, the trolley noise could be somewhat disruptive for light sleepers.

This beautiful hotel is a stone's throw away from Little Italy and the bustling San Diego Convention Center, making it an ideal base for weekend strolls and sightseeing. I loved being surrounded by charming restaurants, and the elegant decor with fresh flowers truly enhanced my experience.

I had an excellent stay, with a peaceful, spacious room and a beautiful rooftop pool. The turn-down service was a lovely touch, and the floral arrangements were stunning! I’d come back anytime!

Our two-night getaway was delightful. The staff provided exceptional service, always ready to assist. The gym facilities impressed me with their sophistication. Be sure to try the delicious pastries from the onsite café, perfect for a quick snack before venturing out to explore the area!

While the hotel has an elegant lobby and friendly staff, the rooms feel somewhat dated, with noticeable wear and tear. The noise from the trains can be disruptive, and some amenities like the refrigerator were not as promised. Overall, it was a decent experience, but improvements are needed.

The staff created an unforgettable atmosphere from check-in to check-out. Special recognition goes to Al from Valet, who was friendly and helpful, and Madison, our bartender, who was attentive and made excellent recommendations.
